Home plans aplenty at Irish Prairie community in McHenry
 Home shoppers may find their pot of gold at the Oaks at Irish Prairie, a new community of 395 single-family homes in McHenry.
 Town and Country Homes offers seven floor plans, including two ranch designs, featuring three to four bedrooms, two or 2 ½ baths, partial or full basements and two- or three-car garages.
 Located at the intersection of Route 31 and Veterans Parkway, the community recently opened two model homes, each showing a selection of popular options.
 “The Oaks at Irish Prairie is a great neighborhood that takes full advantage of the beautiful country-inspired atmosphere of McHenry County,” said Michael LeMont, vice president of operations for Town and Country Homes.  “We’re excited about our two new model homes.  Both are designed decorated and fully furnished and will certainly wow anyone who tours them.”
 The community’s clubhouse – complete with the Irish Claddagh ring, a symbol of love, friendship and loyalty – sets the tone for community spirit and participation.
 One of the two models decorated by Laura O’Connor Designs is the Flaherty, priced from $297,995 with 3,065 square feet, four bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, partial basement and two-car attached garage.
 Off the two-story foyer the den is decorated as a home office with a wine-tasting theme, while the living room is furnished with a gold nubby sofa and two paisley print chairs.  Artwork depicts Tuscan landscapes.
 For an intimate dining experience, the dining room features two round tables, each set for four and topped with a candle centerpiece.  The family room has a fireplace with built-in media niche and wood mantel with windows on either side.
 The gourmet kitchen with oversized granite center island, double oven and separate cooktop allows a cook to prepare meals with ease.  A planning desk and walk-in pantry add convenience.
 The breakfast nook features an extended bay window, while a wood table with bench seat and four chairs lends a casual feel to the space.  There is also a separate game room.
 Topped with a coffered ceiling, the master suite with walk-in closet features a bed with fabric headboard and burnt orange spread and draperies.  The Ultra master bath has dual vanities, soaking tub and walk-in shower with clear glass door.
 With the feel of a bed-and-breakfast, the guest room features hand-painted shutters on either side of the window, a welcome tray of bath essentials and a walk-in closet.
 Two other bedrooms include a boy’s room with a race care theme and a girl’s room with an ice skating motif.
 The Callaghan, priced from $278,995, has 2,517 square feet, four bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, partial basement and attached two-car garage.
 This home showcases a more contemporary look with streamlined furnishings with taupe walls.
 Off the foyer, the living room space is outfitted as a den/office with a display of black-and-white photography.  On the opposite side of the foyer, the dining room is furnished with a square table topped with place settings for eight, mustard yellow draperies and a display of black framed mirrors.
 The family room has a warm, cozy feel with dark wood furnishings.  A stone fireplace with bookshelves on either side highlights the room, while a green sofa and two chairs provide seating.
 Featuring a coffee theme, the island kitchen with breakfast bar has stainless steel appliances, solid surface countertops, mosaic tile backsplash and a large pantry.  A glass bowl layered with fresh fruit tops the table in the breakfast nook.
 The master bedroom with dark wood furnishings features a black leather bed with a gold and brown spread set against a brown wall.  Black-and-white photographs above the bed echo the den’s photography theme.  The deluxe bath with oversized walk-in closet has dual sinks, soaking tub and walk-in shower.
 Secondary bedrooms are decorated in an equestrian motif and ATV rider theme, while another room done in blue and gold showcases the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
 Other plans include the Fitzgerald, a ranch design from $261,995, with 1,778 square feet, three bedrooms, two baths, partial basement and two-car garage.  The Dempsey, from $248,995, has 1,866 square feet, three bedrooms 2 ½ baths, partial basement and two-car garage. 
 The Branagan, from $254,995, has 2,015 square feet, three bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, partial basement and two-car garage.  The O’Brien is a ranch design from $273,995 with 2,172 square feet, three bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, partial basement and two-car garage with storage area.
 The O’Hara, from $277,995, has 2,411 square feet, four bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, partial basement and two car garage with storage area.
