A recipe for community
Cider Grove provides perfect mix of floor plans, neighbors and events

By Marcy Marro – Today’s New Homes Editor

Start with a classis neighborhood and close-knit community.  Add a community center, apple orchard and a full calendar of events.  Mix in friends neighbors, and shake well.  You now have the perfect recipe for Town & Country’s Cider Grove community in Huntley.
Cider grove is a community of 290 single-family homes featuring traditional Midwestern architecture in northwest suburban Huntley.  The heart of this community is the newly opened Cider House community center that is available for every resident to use as a social gathering spot, party room or just a place to hang out and read a good book.
The Cider House is located within a common park area and has two covered open-air deck areas with rocking chairs for residents to sit back and relax while enjoying the sweet smell of apple blossoms from the orchard located just steps away.  The clubhouse also features an exercise room with a flat screen television; a great room with a fireplace, television, and plenty of table and chairs for residents to gather; a full kitchen serving area to make entertaining simple; and a separate children’s play area.
There are two series of homes and a total of 14 floor plans that buyers can choose.  Homes start in the lower $300s.
“We are proud to introduce six wonderful new floor plans at Cider Grove, which will complement the eight existing models we currently offer,” said Brian Murphy, vice president of operations for Town and Country Homes.  “Now with a total of 14 different models to choose from, Cider Grove gives buyers the most variety and best layouts of any single-family community in the northwest suburbs.”
In keeping with the apple theme, all floor plans are named after a variety of apple.  The Empire Series has eight floor plans named the Sommerfield, Jonathon, Melrose, Honeycrisp, Fuji, Cortland, Granny Smith and Blushing Gold.  The newly added Gala Series has six floor plans named the Crispin, McIntosh, Jonamac, Ambrosia, Cameo and Bradley.
The Empire Series ranges in size from 2,600 to 4,000 square-feet.  These homes all have four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, kitchens that open to large family rooms, two-story foyers, partial basements and attached two- or three-car garages.  All floor plans in the Empire Series include a first-floor den.
The Gala Series ranges in size from 2,400 to 3,500 square-feet.  All homes include covered front entryways, 9-foot first-floor ceilings, four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, lofts or bonus space, second-floor laundry rooms, partial basements and attached two- or three-car garages.  Luxury master suites feature one or two walk-in closets and a private bath.
“Our new plans at Cider Grove are filled with the amenities buyers have told us they are looking for a luxury single-family home,” Murphy said. “These new designs are perfect fro growing families that want to purchase a home they can grow into and have a layout that is flexible enough to adapt and change as their family matures and their needs change.  The bonus rooms and lofts that each of these new plans include are great examples of the flexibility buyers will get with these homes and how they can be utilized in a variety of different ways.”
Walking paths and an 8.28-acre park area connects to additional open space throughout the community.
Students will attend Huntley School District 158.  The Huntley Park District has been growing rapidly the past few years, and has numerous facilities that include ponds, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, sports fields and a new aquatic center, Stingray Bay, that is 3.5 miles from Cider Grove.
One-third of the homes at Cider Grove have already been sold.  According to Kathy Hoshor, vice president of marketing for Town & Country Homes, Cider Grove’s popularity has to do with the community feeling and the ability for residents to get to know their neighbors.
“In the past few years, Huntley has become a more established community, with commercial businesses and city-like restaurants making a presence,” Hoshor said.
“Lots of family values and traditions are coming back out to the suburbs,” Hoshor added.  “Cider Grove is just big enough, yet small enough for people to get to know each other through community activities.
Cider Grove is located in northwest suburban Huntley.  To visit, take I-90 to Randall Road north to Huntley Road, west on Huntley Road about 3.5 miles to the community on the right hand side.  The sales center is located at 10284 Hopkins St. and is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday or by appointment.  For more information, call (866) 432-8717 or visit www.townandcountryhomes.com.
