MORRISTOWN, N.J. –- For the past year, Chris Adubato has been watching Morris Place take shape through the windows of his Morristown apartment, located across the street from the new development. Finally, curiosity getting the better of him, he investigated personally and ended up purchasing his first home at the community of 76 townhomes.
"I could not believe what Morris Place was offering at the same prices of older, smaller homes in the area," Mr. Adubato says. "I searched all around Morris County and this was the only brand-new community that satisfied my requirements for price and amenities."
A young, single professional, Mr. Adubato, had been renting an apartment in Morristown because of its commuter convenience and lively environment.
"I was looking to stay in Morristown because it has a great overall lifestyle and an exciting social environment," he explains. "Now, I have a newly-constructed home as well at an unbeatable price which is helping me to build equity. Best of all, I can remain in a town that I have grown to love."
Mr. Adubato will move into his new Morris Place residence later this year. However, the first residents have already begun moving in, transforming the former construction site to a lived-in neighborhood, according to Matzel and Mumford, developer of Morris Place.
The community's two-bedroom townhomes are located in three-story buildings with classic Colonial architecture featuring traditional red brick facades, black roofs and attractive clay siding designed to blend with the historic character of the neighborhood. Two distinctive two-bedroom designs are offered, preconstruction-priced from the mid-$300,000s.
The Washington floor plan offers 1,762 square feet of living space and boasts a second-story loft overlooking the living and dining area. The home also features a gourmet kitchen with an eating nook and pantry, and a luxurious master suite with an outdoor deck, a large walk-in closet and a lavish bath.
The 1,535-sq.-ft. Jefferson model is a similar design without the second-story loft. The home also features a ground level patio off the living and dining area, as well as a tray ceiling in the dining area.
A variety of standard luxury features include nine-feet-high ceilings throughout the main level, over-sized windows, and spacious gourmet kitchens. Master suites offer large walk-in closets, sitting areas opening to a private deck, and sumptuous bath amenities.
